Good morning Cedar Grove! |
God is good. All the time. Yesterday was a day full of encouragement and challenge to be the follower of God we are to be. If there is any thought I would like you to remember it's this: even holy hands get heavy. It is completely natural to get tired and weary. It is in these moments where there is a decision to make. We can either give up, or keep living for Jesus. I pray we choose to keep living for Jesus. |
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9 |
Often, the best thing we can do in these times of weariness is to help another brother or sister in Christ! Don't give up! |

Last week I had the privilege to represent Cedar Grove as a messenger at the Southern Baptist Convention in Dallas. There are many options about the SBC. We must understand however that the SBC only functions for two days a year. The convention is simply a way for the messengers to be heard, financial reports to be given, and results to be celebrated. So, allow me to celebrate some of those results. Outside of the pastors' conference Sunday and Monday, the best moment of the convention is on Tuesday at the IMB missionary send off. Through the Cooperative Program we were able to send 58 fully funded missionaries to the utter most parts of the world! The send off is something like I've never experienced. These people are literally giving their lives and changing all they know to be used for the Gospel cause. Praise the Lord. As Southern Baptists, it was also made clear through resolutions that we stand against homosexuality. We stand against betting and the addictions it causes. We stand against the adult film industry. We stand against women holding the office of pastor. Church, I am glad I am a Southern Baptist. |
Does the SBC have everything right? No. We elect people from our churches to act as trustees and lead the efforts of our mission. Sometimes people mess up. This happens at Cedar Grove as well. However, besides any of that, the SBC still holds strong to its original mission: to bring there Gospel to every person on the earth. For that I am grateful. |

I love you Cedar Grove. Don't give up! Keep on doing good. Obedience to the Lord always brings provision. Happy in the Lord, amen. Buh-bye. |
