Good morning my fellow saints!

Yesterday was a great day of worship, fellowship, and digging into God’s Word. I know I say this often, but let’s not take days like yesterday for granted. As you know we had some severe storms last night. As I was laying in bed I could see the lightning and hear the thunder loud and clear. One thought kept looping in my mind. I have no control over this storm. All the modern technology can warn us and there are checklists to follow for server weather. However, I cannot control the storm. I can only control how I respond to the storm.

Church, is that not just like our life on earth spiritually. We cannot control some of the things that happen to us. We cannot control some of the things that happen around us. We don’t go to the weather app or news channel to find out what to do in these situations. We go to God’s Word.

Another thought about storms. I’ve lived through many bad storms. So have you. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning after a bad storm and everything being calm. As a matter of fact, I tend to sleep better during a storm, knowing that I am safe in my home from the rain and lightening. His is our shelter. He is our refuge. He is our protector. We are safe with Him. The storms will come. You may be in one right now as you read this. Just for a moment, be still and know He is God.

I want to make clear that this illustration of storms is not to ignore that some storms do hurt people and cause destruction. In that regard, we ought to pray for those who are hurt and impacted by the physical storms we experience on earth. But also, we ought to pray for those who are going through spiritual storms. Those storms can cause pain and anguish as well.

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, And he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. (Isaiah 43:1, KJV 1900)

I love you Cedar Grove Family. Have a great day and serve the Lord! Happy in the Lord, amen. Buh-bye.
