What. A. Day. |
We had 273 souls yesterday in our church. 273 souls who were there for one reason. The Risen Savior. Days like yesterday can really propel momentum for a local church. That’s what I want to think about this morning. |
It brings a simple question: why not? What if every Sunday we gathered together early anticipating God working in our and other’s lives that morning. What if we packed out the room with men praying out to God for the lost and broken people that would fill our pews. There were men standing outside the door for the lack of room! What if we had chairs ready in faith that we would need more. What if we came so ready for worship that our parking lot became a sanctuary. What if we had a team of smiling faces greeting people not just in the fellowship hall but as they walked in the building. Church, why not? |
If we believe God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, why do we treat certain times different than others. Now, there is a season for everything. I do not want to act like Resurrection Sunday is not a special day. It’s the biggest day on the Christian calendar. However, people are struggling every week. Brokenness is not bias to a holiday. Financial troubles, medical issues, family conflict are constant factors in a church congregation. So yes, that smiling face does help. Yes, that hand shake and hug can change a person’s mindset. The anticipation that was obvious and contagious yesterday creates an excitement about Jesus. That’s a good thing. |
So guess what? We have another opportunity in 6 days to gather together just like we did yesterday. (Unless you can come to Midweek! Then its only two days). May our walk be intentional and aware. May we be convicted if we don’t pray as hard as we did for Resurrection Sunday service. God is working Cedar Grove, and He desires to work through us! |
May I encourage you with scripture: |
“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God; just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit but the profit of the many, so that they may be saved.” |

I love you Cedar Grove. And I love being your pastor. I am reminded of God’s grace everyday as I work to lead you well. Thank you. Happy in the Lord, amen. Buh-bye |
