Hello Church family it's Thanksgiving week! |
What a wonderful time of worship and fellowship yesterday was. Man, I do love my church family! This week we will all do our variation of family time, eating, and just having fun with those we love. That being said, maybe this week brings mixed emotions. This was a loved one's favorite holiday, but now they are passed. Maybe your family is not as close as they once were and that rightfully breaks your heart. It could be that you are in the midst of a difficult season in life. Whatever is causing these mixed emotions, may I encourage you to be thankful. Thankful for the breath in your lungs. Thankful for the food in your kitchen. Thankful for the family and loved ones you do have. Thankful for the precious friendships in your life. Thankful for the freedom we often take for granted in our great nation. All this is good to think about in this season. |
That being said, the best way I can encourage you is to remind you of yesterday's message. Today, be "thankful for the can't." You can't obtain salvation by yourself. You can't be delivered on your one merit. You can't earn your way into heaven. But thanks be unto God for His free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ! |
"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" Romans 3:24 |
So, today be thankful that even though we can't, God can. Not only that He can, but He did by sending His Son Jesus to die for our sins. All we have to do is call upon His name. During this holiday week, throughout all the potential stress, mixed emotions, and joy, let us be thankful. |
A song sung often during this time to remind us: |
Give thanks with a grateful heart, |
And now let the weak say ‘I am strong’, |
I love you Cedar Grove, and yes, I give thanks for you! Thank you for trusting me in shepherding you as we wait upon our Lord. Enjoy this Wednesday off and spend it with those you love. |
As always, Happy in the Lord, amen, Buh-Bye |
