Hello Cedar Grove Family!

It is always a joy to know that I have trusted preacher friends that can step behind the pulpit and preach the Word as it should be preached. Bro. Travis Humes did a great job preaching with the title "Let Go!" A key takeaway for me was his explanation of how important each part of an anchor system is. The vessel (us) is attached to the tether (the Word) which is attached to the anchor (Jesus Christ). Wow! Let's now look at the main text: Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. Hebrews 2:1

What a needed reminder of how we are to stay in God's will. The only way to save your relationships, friendships, marriage, finances, and even health issues is to be anchored by Jesus through His Word. Hear me church family: There is no other way. The only way to get through your situation or circumstance that is causing you to drift from our Lord is to dig deep in His truth. Jesus said Himself that He is the way, the truth, and the life. Do we trust Him? Even with our stuff? Even with our marriage? Even with our health? Even with our children? Even with our singleness? Remember, He is WORTHY.

We talk a lot about Monday Mourning Syndrome (MMS). Me and Heather just got back from a wonderful vacation where we were able to really spend time with each other. I praise God for that. I praise God for her! However, she is not my anchor. If she is, a Monday morning shift in attitude can cause my vessel to begin to slip away, or as Bro. Travis said, to drift. God, however, never changes. So on this Monday Morning, may we remember that God is able and worthy. God can and will. God has already done everything we need to live this life for Him victoriously. I challenge you to ponder on His grace, that is, His unmerited favor. We don't deserve it, but we have received it. Amen!

I love you Cedar Grove, and I am glad to be back home and to continue to lead you in the way of the Lord. May we together grow in the Word until He returns for His Bride. Do not ever forget: the Anchor holds!

Your pastor and fellow saint, Happy in the Lord, amen
